T is for?

Every Monday we have Family Night and each person is assigned a task to help make the evening complete.  In fact, we all take a turn at each task.  Last week was Nathan’s turn to make a treat.  I know that Kaitlyn usually chooses to make brownies but Nathan is more of a wild card.  When I asked him what he’d like help to make he thought for a minute and then surprisingly said “the letter T”!  Huh?  Hmmmm… how were we going to do that?  So we came up with a “T cake”.  Chocolate was Nathan’s flavor choice and the frosting colors of a “pink T and blue” were also his choice… followed by outlining the letter T with chocolate chips.  Outlining in chips was my idea… a fun and tasty one at that.

So when we got to the end of our evening after singing, stories and games we pulled out the cake for treats.  Setting it on the table almost everyone “oooh”ed and “ahhhh”ed over the good fortune of enjoying a non-birthday cake but Nathan’s dad was a little confused… “a cake… with a  T???  What is the T for?”  Nathan responded quickly “T is for turtle, Dad”.  And that set his Dad straight.
