We found some super big dandelions to blow and make wishes with. Nathan is hilarious when he blows... but you might just want to take two steps back from him... or maybe just get an umbrella!!!
Kaitlyn considered this the biggest most perfectly shaped “wishy” we’d ever seen and she may have been right.
Standing on railings is always fun. We looked out over the meadow and listened for different birds. And as we clip-clopped over several bridges the trolls couldn’t catch up to us and we were safe each time.
Nathan wanted to move the rocks to investigate who might be hiding underneath. He must have picked the biggest rock he saw and was determined to “do it himself”… and he did! Mostly he found tons of dark slugs out on the path which Kaitlyn then enjoyed “petting” because they are so soft! A few centipedes were hiding under this rock.
Walking along the path checking all the details, enjoying the morning air and walking “Indian Style” so we can hear the most animal sounds.
Toward the end of our walk these ducks climbed up the side of the bank we were next to and began walking down the path the opposite way we were going.
We sort of scared them with our enthusiasm and they flew back down into the babbling brook which seemed delightfully full with rain water.
We had to investigate and climb on some more rocks, a favorite perch for each of my children at some point in time.
Kaitlyn went home with hands full of interesting rocks and fossils. Nathan went home looking forward to eating some lunch! This is one of my favorite ways to spend the morning with my children and they love it too.
