Sort of a collage here from Christmas morning. Seems silly to be trying to put this together in February when life is making me think about all sorts of other things but it is fun to remember now, anyway. As tradition has been handed down we have the kids group together on the stairs in their pajamas for their first “official” trip downstairs on Christmas morning. I use the term “official” because our one and only bathroom is on the first floor and since I don’t blindfold them on their walk there through the living room they’ve already been down once, separately. Oh well.
So here are the children awakened from their sugarplum dreams; Nathan wishing and hoping for a stocking full of candy, Kaitlyn dreaming of a castle and a little box, Tristan in hope of more Legos and some sweatpants, Lindsay longing for a pair of long pajamas and Haley who wouldn’t pin herself to anything this year.
Here’s a little of our excitement! And Nathan decided to change his Pajamas into the oldest, dearest pair we have in the house upon waking up. That’s how it goes, I guess.
The girls…
Look at those faces.
Happiness…
Excitement…
Homemade Joy!
Special mention here; Lindsay opened her horsey socks from her Grammy and was thrilled with how cute they are. Then she read a note that said “don’t forget to check in your socks” where she found a scrolled piece of paper giving her notice of enrollment for horse riding lessons for the winter session in January and February each Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30. Thrill!!!
Nathan LOVES Rudolph, Lindsay is still basking in joy as Haley anticipates her next gift.
Warmth, Love and Cows!
Homemade thoughtfulness…
A new winter coat to try on.
T-Ball for Nathan (and Tristan was just as excited). Now to wait for warmer weather.
Kaitlyn sewed a family gift which she presented right before breakfast for a happy family.
Strata, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit and hot chocolate. Spooky enjoyed a warm kitchen full of fantastic smells as we cleaned up.
Spooky relaxing in the living room before getting into his own stocking full of surprises and treats.
Sandy got in on the action, too. She knew exactly what gift was for her.
And Nathan finally got what he wished for… stocking full of candy and lots of chocolate to eat as we watched “Tangled” for the very first time of many since then.
Kaitlyn enjoys her stocking and the cats investigate the wrappings and piles of playthings lying around.
There were even gifts for the cats; treats and homemade catnip toys that I hadn’t gotten together until the last moment this year.
Christmas is for kitties, too.
Kitty playtime
Playtime for little boys. (for some reason I cannot get the right pic to rotate.)
Here is a little picture of the treasures left under the tree for me!
The cats wore themselves out as the afternoon quieted down for the rest of us.
We had a nice Christmas at home this year. Everyone is healthy, warm and happy.
We are once again blessed with “enough” and I can’t help but think how remarkable that is. Merry Christmas!
