Valentine’s Day

This holiday comes along right smack in the middle of winter just when you need a spot of brightness in life.  Crafts, goodies, friends and a splash of color for Valentine’s Day brightens up the cold darkness in the middle of February.

Nathan tried his hand at stringing some colorful cupcake wrappers together on ribbon with a large plastic needle.  This enthralled him for a few minutes… and then he was done.

Kaitlyn came home from school and worked on this.  She made a pattern of color with wrappers and included patterns with wrappers and doilies.  We strung some paper hearts as well to make a couple of garlands.  They dressed up the living room and looked really pretty.

The kitchen windows were decorated… Sandy thought the labels were for her.  Well, that and she didn’t care much for the cold.  This is her “velcro” act when she wants “in”.

Nathan and I also made a dipped sugar cookie for Valentine’s Day for our lunch boxes on Valentine’s Day.  We had plenty to give out to Teachers and even a favorite principal.

The same recipe made both of these cookies in fact.  The dipped cookies are the cutouts from the raspberry filled cookies.  They were such a yummy surprise for everyone lucky enough to get them.

Just ask Nathan.  Happy Valentine’s Day!
