Late last week on Thursday I had promised the children a trip to the museum. In spite of Nathan’s beginning of a cold we decided to go anyway. They’d been waiting all week.
After scampering through the caves a few times which included a bump on the forehead for Nathan when he nearly went through a glass window because he got excited to see a jaguar skeleton we went through the area with the glaciers and a variety of animals on the trail.
Nathan was impressed with the wolves and later some dinosaurs.
He was even more excited to see the T-Rex who looked sort of hungry for little boys. Kaitlyn was happy to find signs of Christmas time.
We spent a few minutes playing with some dinosaurs before going to eat our own lunch of eggs, yogurt and oranges.
After we had our lunch we headed to another museum housed under the same roof and found a great art project for the kids to work on and take home. This was based off of some artist from the 1960’s whose name escapes me. Wire and light are the mediums for this work of art.
The kids enjoyed bending and poking and coloring. Even more they enjoyed these works of art in their dark bedrooms at bedtime for the next two nights. They looked awesome. It was hard to go to sleep.
After running crazy through the mazes, slides and tree houses in the woods Kaitlyn and Nathan spent their last few minutes playing in the water area with pulleys, spigots, tubes and floaties. Only one shirt needed to be changed at the end of this fun time. Naps were then taken in the car as we stopped by to pick big sisters up at school and then big brother up after running club at his school before heading home for an easy dinner. The Museum Center is always a fun day.
