Kaitlyn was very excited today that her birthday had finally arrived. Everyone’s first day back at school after Winter Break made it hard for her to wait ALL day for everyone to come home and have a party with her.
She awoke to a snowy day here in Cincinnati… a far cry from the record breaking temperature of 65 degrees on the day she was born.
It was 14 degrees outside this morning but this is about as much snow as we ever get. For some reason the kids still had school; maybe because it was so cold that it really wasn’t very slippery AND the snow was no longer falling. After attending a 9 a.m. cello lesson with Tristan at school, Kaitlyn was surprised by a visit to her favorite “Old McDonald Had a Farm” for some pancakes and sausage…
And a little play time as well…
Back at home again, it was time to make dinner as well as frosting for the cake.
Helping bake is the best part, especially when it involves chocolate. Yum!
And on the menu for dinner, the birthday girl has picked: Dogs in a blanket made with homemade biscuits, corn, strawberries and chips.
Nathan was very happy to see his Dad again after work. Big Hugs!
On to the cards and presents to work up an appetite for cake and ice cream.

Winnie the Pooh is a favorite of Kaitlyn’s.
Cindi had to check out what I was doing.
Kaitlyn and her Bitty-bitty have pretty matching birthday dresses.
Kaitlyn enjoyed the chocolate cake she requested: “one bowl chocolate cake” with chocolate buttercream frosting. This girl is all chocolate as we had Chocolate Moose Tracks ice cream to go with it. It was mmmmmmmm, good! She’s my girl. Kaitlyn enjoyed her special day.
At 10 p.m. my dishwasher got to work finally. I got to folding two loads of laundry. And then there were papers to grade.
