Before you get to Brockport where I attended college for my final few years in Rochester you pass through Spencerport and find a wonderful county park called Springdale Farm. It has been years since we visited and this was the first time two of our children had been there. We were going to picnic there but couldn’t find any jelly so we gave up that pursuit and just met up there after lunch.
Nathan had a great time on the playground riding the truck.
All of this crew but one belong to my party.

Porter is content and ready to have a ride in his stroller.
We saw lots of geese and ducks out by the pond.
Porter does not mind grass around him at all.
Into the woods we went for some hiking.
Greg and Lindsay, only 3 months apart in age, are happy to be together.
Haley is helpful with Nathan.
What did we find?
This little toad is soooooo cute! Can we take him home? I persuaded the children that this little guy is happier at the farm than in the city and that their Grammy is happier with him at the farm as well.
Whoa! There he jumps!

My youngest two loved the farm dog who was excited to “talk” to them.

A peacock was strutting his stuff back outdoors once again.
A warm day, the kids were grateful to find a drinking fountain. Kaitlyn found two could drink at once and she didn’t have to wait her turn. (I’d have done something about this had their been a stranger taking a drink).
Kaitlyn got totally soaked as her brother found a way to hold the water back and let it flow out all at once in a rush.
Here are some pretty flowers I found growing in one of the outdoor gardens. Our lillies in Cincinnati are long gone so it’s refreshing to see them all over again. I love flowers. I wish we’d had more time to check out the rest of the gardens.

We found eggs in the top part of the barn along with some other educational activities.
This was a lovely view from the loft of the barn just as the farm was closing for the day and so we collected everyone and made our way back to the city. Everyone enjoyed the farm and the simple pleasure of being together in the great outdoors.
