We decided to spend the Tuesday after Christmas at the Museum Center. The train display is a great attraction they have up for the holidays each year and we enjoy it whenever we go. We have gone with my brother David and his family when they were here visiting one year after Thanksgiving. This time we ran into tons of local people we know. The kids have a lot of fun.
Here come the trains!
Now I get to play with the trains.
Thomas keeps the children quite busy for a while.
Then there was a train for the kids to ride on. Tristan is still short enough.
Nathan spends the entire time pulling the rope to ring the bell. He likes to be busy.
The train went around three times and took the kids through the forest among woodland animals and pretty lights.
Since we were there we went to investigate the caves, glaciers and dinosaurs.
Did I say “DINOSAURS”? Nathan says “ROAR”!
We also went to the local history area and built a log cabin from a simple wooden boat just like the early settlers did after traveling down the Erie Canal and Ohio River.
Then we split and I took the younger ones to “Little Sprouts”.
Kaitlyn had a great time.
Nathan had lots of fun cruising around and ended his visit in the sand. He loved to watch the mechanics of this toy at work by the sand he poured. We left at dinner time with tired kids who grabbed a nap in the car on the way to a Cub Scout Pack Meeting. The Museum is always a hit.
