Afternoon at the Museum

I spent the afternoon with my youngest two at the Museum Center today.

Nathan HAD to see the “elephant” before we toured the caves a few times and Kaitlyn couldn’t wait to write and draw afterward.

What to do first???  Sand, trains and puzzles are all favorites of Nathan.

But then we found these flexible bendable toys and that was IT!  Robot production had begun.  Imagine Nathan in his best robot voice: “I am programmed for HUGS… BEEPO!”

Kaitlyn joined in with the sand and robots but writing is her passion at the moment. 

We went up to eat eat our lunch and as Nathan looked around the large rotunda he commented on the “big flag” hanging, the “rainbow” shape of the walls and ceiling, and when he looked up at the huge tile depiction of the people through the history of our city he pointed and said “Amazing”.  We ended our lunch with a Reece’s Peanut Butter Pumpkin; a surprise for lunch from Daddy who had to pick up milk at the store anyway on his way home at 6:30 this morning.

Both kids work on patterns, shapes, colors or all three and Nathan found a fun bumble bee to ride around on.

This is me looking WAY up at both of my kids… Nathan is fearless and successfully navigates all the areas made for the older kids.  He’s one of them or so he thinks.

Last stop for obvious reasons is the water area… fun with pouring, pulleys and more before changing the shirt at least.

Lots of hard work… hard play is the best way to learn.
