The tables were set beautifully with tablecloths, rolled silverware in napkin ringed napkins and pretty flowers in hand decorated vases designed with the colors of Italy’s flag in mind. The menus were hand printed neatly offering a selection of Italian food from which to choose. Soft Italian music tickled our ears in the background while a slideshow of Italy’s landmarks, geography and architecture offered us a window view into the beauty of this foreign land. No detail was left un-done.
I looked over the menu and placed an order.
After receiving a glass of apple juice, my waiter appeared with a delightful green salad with buttermilk dressing, a serving of steaming hot spaghetti with red sauce and freshly grated parmesan. Then he proceeded to butter my bread for me.
The service was impeccable!
Kaitlyn deemed this the “best spagetti ever” and proved it by eating THREE platefuls trying it both with and without sauce.
Delicious either way!
Our next course of the meal was then offered and brought to us by our server; delicate Italian cookies called “pizzelles” served with or without a sprinkling of powdered sugar on the top, dependant upon your liking.
Ensuring that his customers were satisfied, this kind, young server got a chance to eat 4 platefuls of spaghetti, himself, sitting next to one of his best friends, Rohan. Both boys took full advantage of being in charge of their own meals by choosing a menu for themselves which included a lack of green salad and LOTS of confectioners sugar. They were quite fun to visit with over lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed this special occasion. Thank you, Tristan!
